slices bacon
1 10 1/2-ounce can condensed onion soup
1 can water
2/3 cup crushed ginger snaps
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 ounces red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. browning liquid for gravy
1 1/2 lbs. cubed, cooked beef
Brown
bacon in frying pan. When crisp, remove from pan and break
into bite-size pieces. Mix soup, water, ginger snaps,
brown sugar, vinegar and browning liquid in a 2-quart
saucepan. Add bacon bits and simmer slowly for 10 minutes.
Add beef and reduce heat to medium for 10 minutes, or
until beef is warmed through. Serve over rice or in a
casserole garnished with parsley. Serves 6.
