GIFT-OF-SELF CERTIFICATES
Use white paper and your fanciest printing for the message, or
create the certificate on your computer. Gold seals can be purchased at most
stationary stores, or make your own from the back of an old gold Christmas card.
This idea is one that costs very little, is a gift that always "fits"
and is rarely exchanged. Your certificate can be as simple or as elaborate as
you wish. It could be for "a chocolate cake", or "a car wash"
or for a "day off". It is a pleasure to give because you are giving
of yourself and a joy to receive because it is custom made for the recipient.
COUPON BOOK
A variation on this gift idea would be a book of coupons, perhaps
one per month, good only during that month. These pages could even be perforated
so that they would tear out by "sewing" with a sewing machine without
thread. A great gift for kids to give mom and dad, with a chore to perform each
month.
GIFT BASKET IDEAS
You can create a unique gift by filling a basket (or cover a box with pretty paper) with items dealing with the recipients' interest or hobby - cooking, sports, collecting, etc. For the cook, a wire whip, cookbook, peppermill, wooden spoon, etc. For the sportsman you might include "shoo-goo" to care for shoes, a box or can of balls, a hat, etc. For the gourmet, a bottle of wine, cheese, crackers, salami, etc. For the seamstress, a pattern file, pins, a piece of pretty fabric, thread, etc.
