Carrot Cookies with Orange Icing

3/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup raisins
1 cup grated carrot

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, and vanilla. Sift and add 2 cups flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold in 1 cup nuts, raisins, and carrot. Bake at 350 degree for 10-12 munutes. Frost when cool with icing below.

Icing:
Juice of 1 orange
Enough powdered sugar to thicken.
