egg yolk
2 tbsp. cold water
Dash of salt
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. Baking Powder
3 large apples
1/4 cup raisins
1/3 cup almonds
1 egg beaten
1 tsp. Lemon extract
Beat together egg yolk, water, salt and lemon juice. Cream
butter, blend into first mixture, add flour. Divide dough
in half. Roll one piece out thin and fit into greased
pan, 12 x6 inches. Peel and core apples and chop fine
with raisins and almonds. Spread mixture over dough in
pan, top with remaining dough rolled out thin. Brush with
beaten egg. Bake in 400 degree over about 45 minutes.
